Intelligent Resource Sharing
N*Grid differentiates itself from the competition through varying unique features. In the N*Grid environment, resource management is provided through P2P, enabling real-time resource monitoring, status and error checking. Therefore localized failures do not have impact upon the operation of the entire grid, and enables self-healing of the problem. Also, N*Grid automates job management according to its matching algorithm, directing jobs to the best-fit resources through its real-time resource and job monitoring.

Homogeneous Environment
N*Grid is independent of platforms, allowing the customer to use N*Grid on all platforms ranging from JVM, Linux Clusters, NT servers, workstations and personal computers alike, on both 32-bit and 64-bit environments. This provides a homogeneous virtual platform for heterogeneous hardware and systems. Therefore, users no longer have to unify system hardware and software in order to create clusters, but can move straight to grid computing on heterogeneous systems

Fault-tolerant Process
N*Grid provides highly fault-tolerant processes, allowing the by-pass of failed systems through automated job redirection. Also, its intelligent resource sharing enables diagnosis and self-healing of the trouble spot, decreasing the need for manual debugging or system maintenance.

Security
National Grid Inc. is developing advanced security measures to protect systems against both internal and external threats. Its middleware will allow data protection using advanced user authentification, as well as supporting third
